Mission
To keep growing as children of God, to foster the preservation of our Filipino Christian heritage inspired and guided by “bayanihan”, the Filipino spirit of caring and sharing through social and spiritual interaction. |
About Our Organization:
The Bayanihan Society of Queen of Peace is prayer group that was formed more than 20 years ago by a group of inspired Filipino parishioners of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Through the years it has served the Filipino community in various ways, including prayers, prayer vigils, songs, etc. It spearheaded the acquisition and the subsequent enshrinement of our Lady of Antipolo when the new church at Queen of Peace was built.
Although the Filipino community started it, the society accepts into it’s fold anyone who is interested and believes in it’s ideals and purpose regardless of age, gender or national origin.
Friday nights are spent with an hour of adoration and the recitation of the rosary followed by readings of the coming Sunday’s gospel. The readings are then shared based on personal and individual life experiences. Every first Wednesday of the month, a Mass and Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help is held at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Because of this, there is no Friday rosary and sharing on the week where the first Wednesday falls.
In order to share our culture, throughout the year, selected traditional Filipino religious fiestas are celebrated in the church with the Queen of Peace parish community. Please see the list of activities.
