“Could You Not Watch One Hour With Me?” (Mt 26:40)

(Remain with Christ: The Transformative Power of Adoration. Fr. Felix P. Medina-Algaba. August 25, 2024 Bulletin)

In the silence of our Eucharistic chapel, we watch with the Lord, present in the Blessed Sacrament. Here, He speaks directly to our hearts, offering the "words of eternal life" that sustain us through life's challenges. The divine love we encounter in Adoration surpasses all human understanding, empowering us to endure hardships with hope, just as Christ did. Adoration is a transformative experience that shapes us into Christ’s likeness, enabling us to love selflessly and live in deeper communion with others.

This grace requires a firm decision. Jesus asked His disciples, "Could you not watch one hour with me?" (Mt 26:40). He asks the same of us today. Can we dedicate one hour a week to be in His presence, allowing His love to transform us? This time strengthens our relationship with Christ, making us more credible witnesses to the Gospel. The Eucharist is our anchor, sustaining us as we carry Christ’s presence into every moment of our lives. Let us invest in this deeper relationship through Adoration, dedicating one hour each week to be with Him and allowing this time to equip us to bring His light into all that we do.
