Capital Campaign Kickoff Next Weekend

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN KICKOFF NEXT WEEKEND!

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I am excited to share with you that we will begin our capital campaign next weekend! This is major milestone in our parish’s history, as it marks the beginning of our mission of building a new parish center for the salvation of many souls.

To kick off the campaign, we will have a big celebration. After every Mass, everyone is invited to joins us for food and entertainment in the Great Room. You will be able to see the new building designs, learn more about the project, and have answers to any questions you may have. We will not be soliciting money at these gatherings, they are simply for you to learn more about the project and celebrate its long-awaited beginning.

The celebration is to give thanks for all the blessings the Lord gives Queen of Peace. To have so much life and activity in our parish, so many ministries, so many services, so many youth, so many seniors, so many families, that we need to expand our facilities is truly a reason to rejoice. We also give thanks for the gift of evangelization. The new parish center will allow us to do our mission of bringing Christ’s love to everyone in our community of Aurora, to spread the Good News, and to evangelize.

You will notice on this page our new capital campaign logo. I would like to thank one of the members of our parish family, Octavio Lara, for giving his time and talent for this important task. It is in the form of a seal, which is something used to confer authenticity and identity a document. The authentic identity of our project is Mary, the Mother of God, and Mother of the Church. It's that we are instrument of Christ as she builds His community, his people, his ministry, and his home among us. Our logo has different shades of blue, to signify our diversity, which is never an obstacle, but an enormous gift, because it’s the different shades that give beauty and love to Mary's image.

The motto on around the logo reads, “Building Christ’s community together.” This reflects exactly what we are doing at Queen of Peace. This capital campaign isn’t so we can build rooms and walls and hallways. It is to build a community, Christ’s community. There are many people in the community - and there will be many more in generations to come - seeking a place of comfort, of hope, of peace, of love. We will give them that. And remember, we are doing this together. To succeed in this mission will require everyone’s participation. Every single one of us here at Queen of Peace has been called to take part in this mission of building Christ’s community. It is everyone’s project, not just the project of a few.

I hope that you will join us in this important celebration as a first step in joining us for the overall project. We will be in the Great Room after each Mass. And as always, remember to pray - that we may follow the Lord’s guidance and do His will in building a new house for Him.

In Christ
