SANTACRUZAN CELEBRATION
May 6th, beginning with 4pm Mass and followed by:
Procession of the Rosary around the church
Potluck dinner and entertainment in the Great Rm.

The Santacruzan is a popular religious festival held in many towns and cities throughout the Philippines. It depicts the finding of the Holy Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by Queen Helena, the mother of the very powerful Emperor,      Constantine the Great who ended the persecution of Christians It is usually celebrated with a parade of decorated floats and elaborately dressed characters, representing various aspects of the Virgin Mary and other figures.

Convivio y entretenimiento en la Iglesia Viejita

El Santacruzan es un festival religioso popular celebrado en muchos pueblos y ciudades en todo las Filipinas. Representa el descubrimiento de la Santa Cruz de nuestro Señor Jesucristo por la Reina Helena, la madre del Emperador, Constantino el Grande que puso a su fin la persecución de los Cristianos. Se suele celebrar con un desfile de flotadores decorados y personajes elaboradamente vestidos, que representan varios aspectos de la Virgen María y otras figuras.
