As you know, in January 1973, the Supreme Court effectively removed every legal protection from human beings before birth through its rulings in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. Since that time, millions of lives have been destroyed by abortion, and countless women have been traumatized so deeply that they spend years struggling to find peace, healing , and reconciliation. Leading up to the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children on January 22nd, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities sponsors a nationwide novena called 9 Days for Life. This year, the novena runs Monday, January 14 -Tuesday, January 22. The overarching intention of this multi-faceted novena is the respect of all human life, and each day highlights a different intention, also providing daily reflections, educational information, and suggested acts of reparation.

Como saben, en enero de 1973, la Corte Suprema elimino efectivamente toda proteccio n legal de los seres humanos en el vientre a trave s de sus fallos en Roe v. Wade y Doe v. Bolton. Desde entonces, millones de vidas han sido destruidas por el aborto, e innumerables mujeres han sido traumatizadas tan profundamente que pasan an os luchando por encontrar la paz, la sanacio n y la reconciliacio n. En preparacio n para la Jornada anual de oracio n por la proteccio n legal de los nin os en el vientre el 22 de enero, el Comite de actividades pro vida de la Conferencia de Obispos Cato licos de los Estados Unidos patrocina una novena nacional llamada 9 dí as por la vida. Este an o, la novena se realizara del lunes 14 de enero al martes 22 de enero. La intencio n general de esta novena multiface tica es el respeto de toda la vida humana, y cada dí a destaca una intencio n diferente, que tambie n brinda reflexiones diarias, informacio n educativa y actos de reparacio n sugeridos.
